About Us Salmon Arm’s history includes a rich tradition in fruit growing. At Hanna and Hanna Orchards we invite you to take a self-guided tour for a look at a modern fruit growing operation. (Guided tours are available for a nominal fee and must be arranged in advance.) The orchard operation has evolved over the years from primarily a mixed farming operation which included dairy and poultry, to a one which was completely devoted to apple growing, to the point where it now includes a farm market and garden centre to complement the the orchards operation where we continue to grow 50 varieties of modern and heritage apples and other types of fruit. In 2007, we were horoured to be named Salmon Arm's first "Century Farm Award " recipients (as seen in the photo below). Agriculture Minister Pat Bell presented the Award. From the left are Mike Hanna (James & Harriet's son, Fieldman with OKTFC), Stuart Hanna, his son Chris Hanna, Honorable Pat Bell, James and Harriet Hanna. Our Farm Market and Garden Centre is the retail outlet for Hanna and Hanna Orchards. Here we sell not only the fruit we grow, but choice BC fruit as it becomes available through the season. In the store we stock preserves, honey, hard ice-cream, freshly-baked pies and a tasteful selection of gifts. Each spring and fall, Harriet presents a series of workshops on a variety of gardening topics and every autumn, school children from all over the district take part in our educational orchard tours. (Check our events calender for upcoming workshops.) We invite you to "Come in and Experience the difference" and hope you will enjoy the difference 'farm-fresh' makes.
